The Court of Appeal, Abuja will on Monday deliver its judgment on nine consolidated appeals filed by the two factions of the Peoples Democratic Party challenging the decisions of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The appeals arise from rulings by Justices James Omotosho, Joyce Abdulmalik, and Peter Lifu, which restrained the party from conducting its November 15–16, 2025 national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State. That convention saw Saminu Turaki (SAN) emerge as PDP National Chairman.
The party remains split between Turaki’s faction, with Abdulrahman Mohammed as its caretaker chairman, and the opposing faction. The disputes primarily revolve around the legality of the convention and recognition of its outcomes by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The Court of Appeal had reserved judgment after hearing the appeals on February 12, and parties were notified this week of the scheduled ruling.
