The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police Ali Giwa as the Nigeria Police Force’s new Media Officer.
The outgoing Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the appointment in a post on X, noting that the role is part of a newly created New Media Office at Force Headquarters, Abuja, designed to enhance digital communication and public awareness of police operations.
CSP Giwa brings over 15 years of service experience, including expertise in law enforcement, public order management, cybercrime investigation, and cybersecurity. He currently serves as a Cybersecurity Specialist at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center in Abuja and has held several operational and PR roles across Lagos State and other formations.
The appointment follows the recent approval of Anthony Placid as the new Force Public Relations Officer, who replaced Hundeyin.
