President Bola Tinubu has praised the contributions of Nigerian women, promising that his administration will create more opportunities for them to thrive and contribute to national development.
In a statement marking International Women’s Day 2026, Tinubu said, “Our duty as a government and as a society is to continue creating the conditions where every Nigerian girl can learn, every woman can thrive economically, and every voice can contribute to our national development.”
The president highlighted the vital roles women play across homes, markets, offices, and leadership halls, describing them as mothers, entrepreneurs, professionals, and citizens shaping Nigeria’s destiny with resilience and dignity. He added, “When Nigerian women rise, Nigeria rises.”
Governors also joined in celebrating women nationwide. Uba Sani emphasized expanding opportunities for women across governance, enterprise, and community development, while Bassey Otu lauded their courage, creativity, and enduring contributions in all sectors.
