The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency recently conducted a sensitisation programme in Oloko Community, Iju-Ishaga and Ifesowapo Community, Ijaye, aimed at raising awareness and preventing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
In a statement on Sunday, the agency said Community Engagement officers, Akinde Emmanuel and Tolani Adegboyega, educated residents on different forms of abuse—including physical, sexual, emotional, and economic violence—while highlighting available support services and reporting channels for survivors.
Participants were encouraged to report abuse through the DSVA toll-free line 08000-333-333 and to share the zero-tolerance message within their communities.
Community leaders, including the Baale of Oloko, Chief Mathew Oloko, and Chief Wahab Saliu Adisa, praised the initiative as crucial in addressing SGBV. The programme, attended by over 25 participants, strengthened grassroots collaboration in combating the issue.
