Nigeria is mourning the loss of legendary football coach Adegboye Onigbinde, who passed away at the age of 88.
The former Nigeria national football team coach, widely respected for his contributions to Nigerian football, led the team to the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and South Korea.
Onigbinde earlier coached the then Green Eagles between 1982 and 1984 and guided Nigeria to the final of the 1984 Africa Cup of Nations, where they finished as runners-up to Cameroon national football team.
Beyond coaching, he also served as a technical instructor for FIFA and the Confederation of African Football, leaving a lasting legacy in African football.
