The Kayode Egbetokun, Inspector-General of Police, has assured residents of Kwara State that security agencies will work with communities to reclaim areas threatened by bandits and terrorists.
During an operational visit to the Nigeria Police Force command in Ilorin, the police chief urged residents to cooperate with security agencies, stressing that collective action is key to restoring safety.
He also met with AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Governor of Kwara State, to discuss strategies for tackling rising attacks in the region.
The visit comes after deadly violence in communities like Woro, where dozens of residents were killed earlier this year. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier condemned the attack and ordered intensified security operations, including Operation Savannah Shield, to curb terrorism and protect communities.
