The Lagos State Government has arrested a man for allegedly dumping refuse on a public road in Lagos.
The development was disclosed by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday.
According to Wahab, the suspect was apprehended during an early morning patrol by environmental enforcement officers after he was caught disposing of waste on the road.
He stated that the individual will be charged in line with Lagos State environmental laws, stressing that authorities will continue strict enforcement to ensure compliance and maintain sanitation across the state.
The arrest forms part of the government’s ongoing campaign to keep Lagos clean and discourage illegal waste disposal.
