Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has sworn in five newly appointed commissioners following their screening and confirmation by the Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday.
The commissioners sworn in are Mr. Tonye Bellgam, Professor Temple Nwofor, Dr. Peters Nwagor, Mr. Lekue Kenneth, and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart.
The Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office were administered by David D. Ihua-Maduenyi, the Chief Registrar of the High Court of Rivers State.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Fubara urged the new commissioners to dedicate themselves fully to serving the people of the state.
He expressed confidence in their ability to perform their duties effectively, noting that they had successfully passed through one of the most thorough screening exercises conducted by the Assembly.
According to the governor, the lawmakers had already outlined the responsibilities expected of them during the screening process.
“I believe that after going through such a rigorous screening process, those who emerged successful have proven that they are fit and ready to serve our dear state,” he said.
Fubara added that he expects the commissioners to deliver excellent service as members of the State Executive Council.
