The Kogi State Government has authorised the early payment of March salaries to civil servants in preparation for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebration.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo approved the release of the salaries to enable workers in the state to make adequate preparations for the Sallah festivities.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Friday in Lokoja by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo.
Fanwo explained that the early payment reflects the administration’s commitment to the welfare of civil servants, particularly during important religious celebrations.
He noted that the gesture had been well received by workers across the state, as it would help them prepare for the upcoming Sallah celebration.
The commissioner also assured the state workforce that the Ododo administration would continue to prioritise their welfare, recognising the vital role the civil service plays in delivering quality services to residents of Kogi State.
Fanwo further wished Muslim faithful a successful Ramadan and a joyful Eid al-Fitr celebration, which marks the end of the fasting period and is expected to be observed next Friday, subject to the sighting of the moon.
