Negotiations over venue and dates broke down, with Argentina rejecting Madrid’s Bernabéu option, declining a two-legged format, and being unavailable on UEFA’s proposed dates.
This cancellation denies fans the chance to witness Lionel Messi face rising star Lamine Yamal in what would have been a generational showdown.
