President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday met with the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The private audience comes days after the Sultan was absent from Tinubu’s interfaith Iftar dinner with traditional and religious leaders on March 9, where he was represented by the Etsu Nupe.
Photos released by the State House showed warm exchanges between the President and the Sultan, though details of their discussions were not disclosed.
The Sultan, who also serves as President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, has maintained close consultations with Tinubu on national issues.
