The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has begun the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for its forthcoming ward, local government, and state congresses, as well as its national convention.
In a notice issued by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Pa Idigo, members interested in contesting for elective positions within the party were invited to obtain the necessary forms.
The fees vary depending on the position. At the ward level, the Expression of Interest Form costs ₦2,000, while nomination fees are set at ₦10,000 for Ward Chairman, ₦5,000 for Ward Secretary, and ₦3,000 for other ward officers.
For local government positions, forms cost ₦40,000 for LGA Chairman, ₦30,000 for LGA Secretary, and ₦10,000 for other officers.
At the state level, State Chairman forms are priced at ₦500,000, State Secretary at ₦300,000, and ₦50,000 for other state officers.
For the national convention, each delegate is required to pay a ₦10,000 nomination fee, with every local government expected to produce one delegate.
The party also outlined nomination requirements, stating that each aspirant must secure a specified number of nominators, each of whom must pay a non-refundable fee of ₦50.
Ward Chairman aspirants are required to have 10 nominators, while other ward officers need five each. At the local government level, chairman aspirants must secure 20 nominators across the area, while other officers require 10 each. State Chairman hopefuls must obtain 50 nominators from across the state—at least one from each local government—while other state officers need 20 nominators each.
The sale and submission of forms will close on March 27, 2026, with no late entries accepted. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for March 30 to 31, 2026.
According to the timetable, ward congresses will take place on April 7, followed by local government congresses on April 9, and state congresses on April 11. The process will conclude with the party’s national convention on April 14.
