Hon. Adesina Rabiu, representing Iwo State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, reversed his resignation from the Accord Party just hours after tendering it.
Rabiu had initially submitted a resignation letter on Monday, citing personal reasons, but later appeared in a video with Speaker Hon. Adewale Egbedun and the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, to withdraw his decision.
Speaking in Yoruba, he reaffirmed his loyalty to the Accord Party and pledged support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign, stating he would work toward the governor’s second-term bid on August 15, 2026.
The move comes after a mass defection in February when 25 of the 26 members of the Osun State House of Assembly left the PDP for the Accord Party, citing internal crises and commitment to Governor Adeleke’s re-election.
