Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved a ₦10,000 temporary salary increase for workers in the state to ease the impact of rising fuel costs.
The governor made the announcement on Monday in Ibadan, stating that the allowance will be paid for an initial period of three months starting in April, with the possibility of an extension if fuel prices remain high.
He explained that the support is aimed at helping workers cope with increased transportation and living expenses, adding that efforts would be made to ensure the initiative is inclusive.
