The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched an ambitious digital media strategy to reach 100 million Nigerians and a global audience of 400 million ahead of its weekend National Convention. The announcement was made during the inaugural meeting of the National Convention Sub-Committee on Digital and New Media at the Niger State Governors’ Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
Party officials compared the initiative to the sophisticated digital campaigns used by the Republican and Democratic parties in the United States. Co-chairman of the committee and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, urged members to use all digital platforms to showcase the achievements of the APC and align with the broader “Renewed Hope” agenda of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
Niger State Governor and Chairman of the panel, Mohammed Umaru Bago, emphasized the importance of dedication in executing the digital strategy, which aims to amplify the Tinubu administration’s accomplishments and highlight the APC’s growing national influence. Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, O’tega Ogra, outlined the technical framework for deploying digital tools to ensure effective nationwide and global information dissemination.
