The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has ordered the posting of senior officers to key positions across the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to strengthen operational efficiency, enhance leadership capacity, and improve service delivery. The move aligns with the Force’s commitment to an effective command structure and strategic deployment of personnel across Commands, Formations, and Departments.
According to a statement by DCP Anthony Placid, Police Force Public Relations Officer, the postings include:
- AIGs to strategic departments at Force Headquarters, Abuja (Research & Planning, Armament, Operations, Training & Development, Accounts & Budget, Community Policing, FCID, Special Protection Unit) and key zones such as Maiduguri, Makurdi, Katsina, and Lagos.
- CPs to state commands, specialized units (INTERPOL, SWAT, K9, Special Fraud Unit, FCID), administrative departments, and partner agencies including INEC and the Master Printing office.
IGP Disu has tasked the officers to leverage their experience, uphold professionalism, maintain discipline, and deliver effective policing across the country. This exercise forms part of the Force’s ongoing reforms to boost visibility, public trust, and operational effectiveness.
