Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has announced he will leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season, ending a remarkable nine-year stint at Anfield. In a farewell video on social media, Salah thanked the club, teammates, and fans, calling Liverpool “not just a football club” but “a passion, a history, a spirit.”
Salah joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017, making 435 appearances and scoring 255 goals, placing him third on the club’s all-time scoring chart. His honours include two Premier League titles (2019/20, 2024/25), a Champions League (2019), a Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, and two League Cups. He also won the Premier League Golden Boot four times.
The forward, who is currently injured, had a difficult spell this season, scoring only five league goals, and had a public fallout with manager Arne Slot in December. Despite this, he praised the fans for their unwavering support, saying, “Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.”
Liverpool confirmed the departure, noting that the full celebrations of Salah’s “illustrious career” will occur when he officially bids farewell to Anfield.
