The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has dismissed head coach Otto Addo just over 10 weeks before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The decision comes hours after Ghana’s 2–1 friendly defeat to Germany in Stuttgart, where a late goal sealed victory for the hosts. The loss marked the Black Stars’ fourth consecutive defeat, following a heavy 5–1 loss to Austria days earlier.
In a statement, the GFA thanked Addo for his service and wished him well, adding that a new technical direction for the team would be announced soon.
Addo, who took charge in March 2024, leaves the team at a critical moment as preparations intensify for the World Cup.
Ghana is set to compete in a challenging group alongside England, Croatia, and Panama at the tournament in North America.
