The Federal High Court in Kaduna State has adjourned the bail hearing of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who faces allegations by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
During proceedings, El-Rufai’s defence counsel, Ubong Akpan, initially requested the recusal of presiding judge Justice Rilwan Aikawa over alleged bias, but later sought to withdraw the motion.
The bail hearing could not proceed as scheduled because the prosecution had only recently submitted its counter-affidavit. The case is now set for Wednesday, April 1, with a separate ICPC case against El-Rufai adjourned to April 10 for further proceedings.
