President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that genuine national transformation requires sacrifice, as he addressed Nigerians in his Easter message.
In a statement personally signed and released through his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, the president said the lessons of Easter resonate with Nigeria’s current realities, including economic challenges and security concerns.
He assured citizens that his administration remains focused on addressing insecurity and stabilising the economy, noting that efforts are being strengthened through increased funding and strategic international partnerships to combat terrorism and banditry.
Referencing his recent visit to Jos, Tinubu said he met with affected communities to show solidarity and reaffirm the government’s commitment to improving security. He added that security agencies have reported progress, supported by collaboration with international partners.
The president called on Nigerians to remain united and support government initiatives, stressing that peace, cooperation, and national cohesion are vital for sustainable development. He urged citizens to reject actions that threaten stability and instead promote harmony.
On economic reforms, Tinubu acknowledged the difficulties associated with current policies but described them as necessary steps toward long-term growth and prosperity. He noted that meaningful progress often comes through tough but deliberate decisions.
Looking ahead, the president urged political stakeholders to respect the Electoral Act and encouraged Nigerians to participate responsibly in the democratic process, prioritising peace and national interest.
Expressing optimism, Tinubu said recent economic indicators point to gradual progress and better prospects ahead. He concluded by thanking Nigerians for their continued support and encouraging them to remain hopeful in building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation.
