Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar says he will back whoever emerges as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the 2027 elections.
Speaking amid tensions with Independent National Electoral Commission over the party’s upcoming convention, Atiku dismissed concerns about the ADC’s future, insisting the party continues to gain nationwide support.
He emphasized unity within the party, stating all aspirants would rally behind the eventual flagbearer, while highlighting the ADC’s focus on youth and women inclusion.
Atiku also expressed concerns over Nigeria’s economic and security challenges, linking rising insecurity—especially in the North—to youth unemployment and limited access to education.
