The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command, has deployed 1,100 personnel to communities statewide to ensure the safety of lives and property during the Easter celebrations.
According to spokesperson Saminu Yusuf, the deployment covers all 20 local government areas of the state. He explained that the State Commandant, Oloyede Nelson, announced the move while addressing officers, noting that it coincides with the public holidays declared by the Federal Government for April 3 and April 6, 2026.
“The personnel include uniformed officers for overt operations and plainclothes officers for covert assignments,” Yusuf said.
The officers, drawn from various departments, units, area commands, and divisions, will provide security at worship centres, celebration venues, and other critical locations. The NSCDC will also prioritize protecting national assets and infrastructure throughout the festive period.
Yusuf added that the commandant extended Easter greetings to both Christian faithful and NSCDC personnel, wishing them a peaceful and incident-free celebration. He urged residents to pray for continued peace and prosperity, while remaining vigilant and law-abiding during and after the festivities.
