Donald Trump has announced the successful rescue of a second US airman downed in Iran, describing it as “one of the most daring search and rescue operations in U.S. history.”
According to Trump, the injured airman was recovered deep behind enemy lines in a high-risk mission, following an earlier undisclosed rescue carried out to avoid jeopardizing the operation.
The development comes amid escalating conflict across the Middle East, with Iran launching missile and drone attacks on regional targets including Israel and Gulf nations, further intensifying tensions.
The crisis, which began with US-Israeli strikes on Iran, has disrupted global stability, including threats to the vital Strait of Hormuz and rising fears over regional security and energy supply.
Despite the successful rescue, the situation remains volatile, with both sides exchanging threats and no immediate signs of de-escalation.
