Yusuf Buhari, the only male child of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, has officially expressed his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Sandamu/Daura/Mai’adua Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
📄 In a letter dated April 3, 2026, Yusuf Buhari stated his aim to contribute to qualitative leadership, infrastructural development, and human capital growth in his constituency.
The declaration follows endorsement by APC stakeholders in Sandamu LGA, who described him as an “anointed candidate,” supported by Governor Malam Dikko Radda. The endorsement also reaffirmed backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dikko Radda as party flag bearers for the Presidency and governorship seats in 2027.
