Bayern Munich edged Real Madrid 2-1 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Bernabeu on Tuesday, thanks to goals from Luis Diaz and Harry Kane.
Kylian Mbappe pulled one back for Real in the 74th minute, keeping the Spanish side alive for the second leg in Bavaria next Wednesday. Despite several chances, Madrid struggled against Bayern’s dominant play in the first half, with Manuel Neuer making key saves to preserve the lead.
Bayern, led by Vincent Kompany, showed why they are among this season’s favorites, while Kane marked his 11th Champions League goal of the campaign.
