Kabiru Gaya, former governor of Kano State and ex-Senator representing Kano South, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Gaya submitted his resignation in a letter to the ward chairman, Gaya Arewa, in Gaya LGA, effective 5th April 2026. He said the decision aligns with his personal convictions and the best interests of his constituents.
“It has been an honour to serve under the platform of the party… after careful reflection, I have come to the considered conclusion to step aside from the party at this time,” Gaya stated.
He thanked the APC for the opportunities, support, and cooperation extended to him during his tenure as Senator (2015–2023).
