Nigeria is set to defend their Unity Cup crown against India, Jamaica, and Zimbabwe in this year’s four-nation tournament. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the fixtures on Wednesday.
The 2026 edition of the Unity Cup, last won by Nigeria in 2025, will be held at Charlton Athletic’s The Valley Stadium in South London from May 26 to 30, 2026.
Key Fixtures:
- May 26: Nigeria vs Zimbabwe – a high-stakes African heavyweight clash and a rematch of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification encounters.
- May 26: India vs Jamaica – the second semi-final.
- May 30: Winners of both matches will contest the final, promising an electrifying mix of football, entertainment, and cultural celebration.
Reacting to the fixtures, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau said:
“As perennial champions, the Super Eagles will look to retain their title this summer, even as they respect the challenge posed by India, Jamaica, and Zimbabwe. The tournament promises to be explosive, and that is the environment in which the Super Eagles thrive best.”
The Unity Cup provides a high-profile platform for the Super Eagles as they continue preparations for the 2026 World Cup, which Nigeria missed after losing to DR Congo in the African play-offs.
At the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, Nigeria finished third, ensuring the team left North Africa with a medal.
