The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has added more than 3.4 million new voters during the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across the country.
In its week 13 report released on Wednesday in Abuja, the commission confirmed that 3,441,121 registrations had been completed as of April 3, including both online pre-registrations and in-person sign-ups.
Out of the total, 2,068,384 Nigerians registered online, while 1,372,737 completed their registration at designated centres nationwide.
State figures showed that Jigawa recorded the highest number of new voters with 201,047 registrations (5.84%). Lagos followed with 181,095, while Kano ranked third with 177,681.
Young people continued to dominate the exercise, with those aged 18 to 34 accounting for 2,354,768 registrants—68.43% of the total.
Women recorded higher participation than men, making up 1,922,143 (55.86%) of registrants, compared to 1,518,978 males (44.14%).
By occupation, students formed the largest group with 1,235,931 registrations (35.92%), followed by business persons at 701,912 (20.40%) and those in farming and fishing at 615,967 (18.28%).
INEC also reported that 48,330 Persons with Disabilities registered within the period.
The commission noted that these figures are provisional and subject to data clean-up, including verification through the Automated Biometric Identification System and a period for claims and objections.
It added that voter registration remains suspended in the Federal Capital Territory in line with the Electoral Act 2022, following the Area Council Election held on February 21.
INEC encouraged eligible Nigerians who are yet to register to do so through its official platforms before the deadline.
