Eko FM and Radio Lagos have emerged as major winners at the prestigious Nigeria Broadcasting Awards (TNBA), organised by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), securing six awards across various categories.
The stations were recognised among 248 entries for outstanding performance in news coverage, programming quality, professionalism, and consistent dedication to public service—further cementing their leadership position in Nigeria’s radio broadcasting industry.
Their awards spanned several categories, including Radio Station of the Year; Best Radio Station – News (English Language); Best Radio Station – News (Indigenous Language); and Best Radio Station – Original Production in Business, Drama, and Sports (English and Indigenous Languages).
Individual staff members also received recognition, with Gbenga Alli-Balogun named Newscaster of the Year and Titi Adeaga winning Reporter of the Year.
Speaking on behalf of the stations, the General Manager of Radio Lagos/Eko FM, Jide Lawal, expressed appreciation to the organisers for the honour. He said the recognition would further motivate the team to uphold their standards of excellence and professionalism.
He also commended Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his leadership and support, dedicating the awards to him, while praising the dedication of staff and the loyalty of listeners.
With six awards in total, Eko FM and Radio Lagos have strengthened their reputation as leading voices in Nigerian broadcasting, setting a new benchmark for excellence in the media industry.
