The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that it conducted precision mop-up airstrikes on identified terrorist hideouts within the Jilli axis of Borno State, targeting fleeing insurgents and regrouping cells.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was carried out on April 11, 2026, as part of a coordinated air–ground offensive alongside the Nigerian Army.
He explained that the strikes followed earlier engagements in the area and were based on credible intelligence, aimed at consolidating gains made against terrorist elements and preventing regrouping in the region.
According to the Air Force, the operation reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen intelligence-driven joint operations designed to deny terrorists freedom of movement and enhance security across vulnerable communities in the North-East.
NAF reiterated its commitment to sustained surveillance, precision targeting, and rapid response operations as part of broader counter-terrorism efforts to restore stability in Borno State and surrounding areas.
However, the statement did not clarify whether the latest airstrikes resulted in any civilian casualties.
