The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a revision to the reporting time for candidates sitting for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), particularly those in the first session of each day.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Monday, the board said candidates scheduled for the first session are now expected to arrive at their Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres by 7:00 a.m., instead of the earlier 6:30 a.m.
JAMB explained that the examination will still commence at 8:30 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m. as previously scheduled, with the UTME continuing in four daily sessions across accredited CBT centres nationwide.
According to the board, the adjustment is aimed at improving operational efficiency and addressing concerns from candidates and parents regarding early morning travel, safety, and transportation challenges.
The board also clarified that candidates are not required to reprint their examination slips following the update.
It urged all candidates to adhere strictly to the revised schedule and arrive promptly to avoid disruptions during the examination process.
The 2026 UTME is scheduled to hold between April 16 and April 25, 2026.
JAMB said the changes are part of ongoing efforts to improve the smooth conduct and overall efficiency of the national examination system.
