Noah Okafor delivered a match-winning performance as Leeds United secured a historic 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Okafor struck twice in the first half, capitalising on defensive lapses to hand Leeds a commanding lead. United’s troubles deepened after Lisandro Martinez was sent off in the second half for pulling the hair of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Casemiro pulled one back for United, but Leeds held firm to secure their first league win at Old Trafford in 45 years and their first top-flight victory over United since 2002.
The result marks a major boost for Leeds in their fight against relegation, with Daniel Farke’s side now six points clear of the drop zone with six games remaining.
Despite the defeat, Michael Carrick’s United remain third in the table, still in contention for a Champions League spot.
Leeds, meanwhile, continue to enjoy a strong cup run and are set to face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley on April 26.
The match reignited one of English football’s fiercest rivalries, with Leeds’ long-awaited triumph proving a bitter blow for United fans at home.
