The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has concluded its national convention in Abuja, with delegates overwhelmingly voting to amend the party’s constitution.
Out of 1,576 accredited delegates, 1,471 voted in favour of the amendment—representing 94 percent—while 11 votes were voided. The result was announced by Emeka Ihedioha, who chaired the electoral sub-committee.
Key resolutions ratified include waivers on membership requirements, suspension of zoning for executive positions, and changes to succession rules within the party structure.
The convention also endorsed the dissolution of the former National Working Committee led by Ralph Nwosu, with a new leadership structure under David Mark taking full charge.
In his remarks, Mark described the convention as a milestone, expressing confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the 2027 elections.
