Former Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo has passed away after reportedly collapsing during a football match in Kaduna State.
According to reports, the 40-year-old slumped on the pitch at Angwan Yelwa in the Television area of Kaduna shortly after coming on as a second-half substitute. He was said to have collapsed without any contact, and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Eneramo, who had retired from professional football, enjoyed a career that saw him play for clubs such as Beşiktaş J.K., Espérance Sportive de Tunis, and Lobi Stars F.C..
Before his death, he was reportedly managing a football academy, continuing his involvement in the sport after retirement.
Tributes have begun to pour in, with the Super Eagles’ official social media account mourning the late striker and honoring his contribution to Nigerian football.
