The Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed Murtala Sule Garo as the new Deputy Governor of Kano State following a successful screening process.
The confirmation was announced during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Jibril Isma’il Falgore, after lawmakers adopted the report of an ad hoc committee set up to review the nomination.
Presenting the report, the Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Bello, stated that Garo’s nomination followed the resignation of former Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.
He added that the screening was conducted in line with constitutional provisions, including a detailed assessment of the nominee’s academic background, professional experience, and vision for governance in the state.
Following the review and verification of his credentials, the Assembly approved Garo’s appointment, filling the vacancy in the state’s executive leadership.
