The Nigeria Police Force in Kaduna State has recorded significant breakthroughs in its anti-crime operations, arresting 30 suspected kidnappers, four gunrunners, and several car theft suspects in April 2026.
The State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, attributed the successes to intelligence-driven policing, coordinated tactical operations, and intensified patrols across the state.
During the operations, officers recovered five firearms with live ammunition—including an anti-riot gun—as well as four stolen vehicles.
One major operation along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway saw security operatives engage suspected bandits in a gunfight, forcing them to flee with gunshot wounds while abandoning an AK-47 rifle and ammunition.
Police also rescued a seven-year-old boy abducted in Kubau Local Government Area after a ₦40 million ransom was demanded. The child was found in Soba LGA, while a suspect was later arrested in Katsina State.
In addition, authorities dismantled a car theft syndicate operating across Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina states, recovering vehicles including a Toyota Corolla and a Pontiac Vibe.
Other arrests included suspects found with illegal firearms and one individual apprehended in Zaria with 44 sealed packages of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.
CP Muhammad reaffirmed the command’s commitment to making Kaduna State unsafe for criminals, while appreciating the support of the Inspector-General of Police, Olutunji Disu, and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani.
He also urged residents to continue providing credible information to aid security agencies in combating crime.
