President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, May 2, for an official visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda.
His first stop will be France, after which he will travel to Nairobi to participate in the Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11–12. The summit, co-hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on key issues such as energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms to global financing systems.
President Tinubu’s participation is expected to reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic ties with African countries and France. The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,”will bring together leaders to discuss economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and peace-building efforts across the continent.
Following the summit in Kenya, the President will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum, holding from May 14 to 15. The forum, organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, will convene over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers to explore strategies for scaling African businesses, boosting regional integration, and driving cross-border investments.
At both events, President Tinubu is expected to present his administration’s economic reform agenda aimed at positioning Nigeria as a top destination for investment and sustainable growth. He will also hold high-level engagements with global and African business leaders.
The President will be accompanied by senior government officials and is expected to return to Nigeria after the Rwanda engagements.
