The Peoples Democratic Party has commenced the screening of aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan successfully completing the process for the Kogi Central Senatorial District.
The screening exercise, held in Lokoja, Kogi State, marks the beginning of internal party activities leading to the PDP primaries for the 2027 elections.
Speaking after the exercise, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed gratitude to party leaders, supporters, and residents of Kogi Central for their continued confidence in her leadership and representation.
According to a statement issued by her aide, Mike Idoko, the senator arrived fully prepared with all necessary credentials and supporting documents required for the screening.
Akpoti-Uduaghan described the exercise as an important democratic process and reaffirmed her commitment to delivering quality representation, purposeful leadership, and people-focused governance.
The lawmaker also outlined key priorities for a potential second term, including youth and women empowerment, scholarship programmes, improved healthcare delivery, rural road rehabilitation, enhanced electricity supply, job creation, and support for small businesses across the five local government areas of Kogi Central.
She further pledged to intensify efforts toward attracting more federal projects to the district while strengthening community security and economic growth initiatives.
Her participation in the screening exercise is already generating momentum among supporters and party stakeholders ahead of the PDP primaries and the 2027 general elections.
“For love, people, service and 2027,” the senator declared.
