Godswill Akpabio has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Akpabio secured the ticket unopposed during the party’s senatorial primary election held in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, where party members and supporters gathered in large numbers for the exercise.
As the sole aspirant, the Senate President participated in the primary process alongside party faithful, describing the exercise as a reflection of unity and strong support for the APC within the district.
Speaking after the primary election, Akpabio thanked party members and constituents for their continued trust and confidence in his leadership and representation at the National Assembly.
Party stakeholders also praised the conduct of the primary, describing the process as peaceful, transparent, and orderly.
