ADC screens Atiku, Hayatu-Deen ahead of 2027 presidential primaries

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has screened former Vice President and former FSB International Bank Managing Director ahead of the party’s 2027 presidential primaries.

The closed-door exercise, held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, was conducted by a panel chaired by former Cross River State governor.

Speaking after the screening, Hayatu-Deen described the process as smooth and reaffirmed his readiness for either a consensus arrangement or direct primary.

He pledged to run a disciplined and issue-based campaign focused on tackling insecurity, unemployment, rising living costs, poor infrastructure, and challenges in the education and health sectors.

Atiku, who arrived later for the exercise, simply told journalists that “the screening went well.”

The screening comes amid growing political consultations and coalition talks ahead of the 2027 general election, as the ADC prepares to decide its presidential flagbearer.

Former Rivers State governor was also expected at the venue for his screening.
