The Peoples Democratic Party in Katsina State has endorsed Hamisu Gambo, popularly known as Dan Lawan, and Nura Khalil as its consensus senatorial candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dan Lawan emerged as the party’s choice for the Katsina Central Senatorial District during an affirmation ceremony held at the PDP headquarters in Katsina, attended by party stakeholders, supporters, traditional rulers, and religious leaders.
Speaking at the event, Yakubu Lado Danmarke expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the 2027 elections, stating that the PDP remains focused on competence, credibility, and service delivery in its candidate selection process.
He also praised party supporters and community leaders for their commitment to rebuilding the PDP in Katsina State, while calling for efforts to tackle poverty and insecurity if elected into office.
State PDP Chairman, Nura Amadi Kurfi, described the affirmation exercise as a sign of the party’s growing grassroots support and announced plans for another event to endorse Lado as the party’s consensus governorship candidate.
Meanwhile, Nura Khalil was also endorsed as the PDP consensus candidate for the Funtua Senatorial District after recently joining the party from the NNPP.
