FCCPC seals offices of Ochacho Real Estate, Ti’bilon construction over alleged consumer exploitation

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has sealed the offices of Ochacho Real Estate and TI’Bilon Construction and Facility Management Company in Abuja over alleged non-compliance with regulatory directives and failure to fulfill obligations to consumers.

According to the Commission, the enforcement action followed the repeated refusal of both companies to comply with official notices directing them to hand over housing units to customers who had fully paid for their properties.

The FCCPC stated that several consumers were left stranded despite completing payment for their homes, prompting regulatory intervention.

The Commission disclosed that the affected offices will remain sealed indefinitely until both organisations meet their outstanding obligations to the affected subscribers.

The action was carried out under Section 150(4) of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA), 2018, which empowers the Commission to take enforcement measures against entities found violating consumer protection regulations.

The FCCPC reiterated its commitment to protecting Nigerian consumers and ensuring accountability across the real estate sector.
