Enugu Rangers Defeat Ikorodu City To Win Historic 9th NPFL Title

Rangers International F.C. have secured their place in Nigerian football history after defeating Ikorodu City F.C. 2-1 to win the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title.

The victory at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena handed the Flying Antelopes their ninth league crown, drawing them level with Enyimba F.C. as the most successful clubs in NPFL history.

Captain Chidiebere Nwobodo starred for Rangers with a brilliant brace before Ikorodu City’s Moses Ali pulled one back to set up a tense finish. Despite late pressure from the hosts, Rangers held on to claim the title in dramatic fashion.

Rivers United finished second despite a 3-0 win over Katsina United, while Shooting Stars secured a CAF Confederation Cup ticket after finishing third.

At the bottom of the table, defending champions Remo Stars suffered relegation alongside Elkanami Warriors, Bayelsa United, and Wikki Tourists.
