Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general elections in Kebbi State.
His emergence was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Mohammed Doka, who announced the result via Malami’s official X account.
Malami expressed gratitude to party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters for their confidence in his ambition, pledging to provide purposeful leadership and address issues of governance, security, and development in the state.
The ADC also announced Aminu Bande as its senatorial candidate for Kebbi Central, Ibrahim Mera for Kebbi North, and Garba Danjuma for Kebbi South.
Malami, who declared his governorship ambition in November 2025, said his goal is to “rescue Kebbi State from hardship and insecurity.”
