Tinubu Secures APC Presidential Ticket With Nearly 11 Million Votes, Vows To Deepen Economic Reforms

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections after polling 10,999,162 votes in the party’s nationwide presidential primaries.

Speaking after receiving the APC certificate of return and symbolic flag at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, President Tinubu pledged to consolidate ongoing economic reforms, strengthen democratic institutions, and place Nigeria on a path of sustainable growth and industrialisation.

According to the Chairman of the APC Presidential Election Committee, Senator Pius Anyim, the primaries were conducted across the 36 states, the FCT, 774 local government areas, and 8,809 wards in line with INEC guidelines and the party’s constitution.

Tinubu’s challenger, Stanley Osifo, secured 16,503 votes.

The President also highlighted achievements of his administration over the past three years, including tax reforms, improved revenue generation, and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which he said has disbursed over ₦282 billion to more than 1.5 million beneficiaries.
