Former Deputy Senate Minority Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha, has emerged as the sole governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2027 general election in Taraba State.
The affirmation exercise was held in Jalingo under the supervision of the party’s State Working Committee and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The PDP State Legal Adviser, Muhammad Danlami, stated that the process complied with the provisions of the Electoral Act and the party’s internal guidelines regarding the affirmation of a sole aspirant.
Speaking after the exercise, Bwacha said his ambition is driven by the need to promote unity, purposeful leadership, and address governance challenges in the state.
He pledged to prioritise infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education, and agriculture if elected governor, while promising an inclusive administration.
Bwacha also urged voters to reject vote-buying and remain committed to choosing leaders based on competence and integrity ahead of the 2027 elections.
