The African Action Congress (AAC) has adopted Omoyele Sowore as its consensus presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
Chairman of the AAC Presidential Primary Election Committee, Kayode Babayemi, said the decision reflects the party’s confidence in Sowore’s leadership and commitment to democratic ideals.
According to him, the party believes Sowore remains dedicated to the struggle for a fair, just, and truly democratic Nigeria.
Accepting the nomination, Sowore described the AAC as the “only opposition party” offering Nigerians a genuine alternative, stressing that the party has continued to stand independently without ties to powerful political interests.
He also recalled the party’s “Revolution Now” movement, saying AAC remains committed to challenging dictatorship and promoting people-driven governance.
