The Federal Government has approved a 50% reduction in fares on all train services operated by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
According to the Federal Ministry of Transportation, the fare discount takes effect from May 26 to June 1, 2026, as part of efforts to ease transportation costs for Nigerians travelling during the festive period.
Passengers who purchased tickets before the announcement will also receive a 50% rebate valid for train rides within the period.
The government noted that train schedules and timetables remain unchanged nationwide.
