Thailand has announced a mandatory 21-day quarantine for travellers arriving from or transiting through the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda following the worsening Ebola outbreak in the region.
According to Thai health authorities, travellers showing symptoms of Ebola will be isolated in designated state hospitals, while those without symptoms will also undergo quarantine monitoring.
The World Health Organization has raised international concern over the outbreak, with hundreds of suspected cases and deaths recorded in the DRC, while Uganda has also confirmed infections linked to the virus.
Ebola is a deadly viral disease spread through direct contact with bodily fluids and can cause severe bleeding and organ failure.
