President Bola Tinubu has reassured abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Borno and Oyo States that the Federal Government remains committed to securing their safe return.
In a personally signed Children’s Day 2026 message, the President expressed deep concern over the recent attacks on schools, describing the pain of affected families as a national concern, especially during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
“To those children, their parents, and their teachers, I say this as a father and your President: you are not forgotten. You are not abandoned,” President Tinubu stated.
The President disclosed that he has directed all relevant security agencies to intensify intelligence-led rescue operations and strengthen protection for schools in vulnerable communities across the country.
According to him, the government will deepen the implementation of the Safe Schools framework through improved emergency response systems, community-based early warning mechanisms, and closer collaboration between schools, state governments, and security agencies.
President Tinubu also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring every Nigerian child has access to education, healthcare, safety, nutrition, and opportunities to thrive in a secure environment.
He called on parents, teachers, community leaders, religious institutions, youth groups, and the media to support efforts aimed at protecting children and preventing future attacks on schools.
The President emphasized that every Nigerian child deserves the right to learn, dream, and grow without fear.
